Announcements:

·         Module 3 Assessment: January 9^th. A study guide will be sent home this week. 

·         Thank you again for everyone who helped make our holiday party a success. Our class enjoyed the visitors and we had a great time J

 

 

ELA Workshop: 

What is the purpose of a rubric? How do I write an on-demand piece?

·         Students will be analyzing the Kentucky writing scoring rubric.  Students will be going through the writing process while answering on-demand tasks.

 

Math Workshop: 

How do I use benchmark fractions? How do I solve word problems? 

·         Students will be focusing on benchmark fractions (, 1, ) to assess reasonableness of their answers.  Students will also be adding and subtracting unlike fractions in word problems.

 

Science: 

What are chemical and physical changes?

·         Students will be learning about the two different changes this week.  We will look at experiments testing the changes and applying our gained knowledge to new scenarios.

 

Social Studies:   

What are taxes and why are they important? What were the causes of the Revolution?

·         Students will be learning about the causes of the American Revolution. We will study the taxes imposed on colonists, the French & Indian War, and the Boston Massacre.
